Jonas Brothers Open The Floodgates Of Jonas-ness

"Hannah Montana"/Miley Cyrus. "High School Musical." And now, ladies and gentlemen, the Jonas Brothers. If you have a tweener child and Disney Channel On Demand, the festivities begin for you tonight, when the Disney movie "Camp Rock" first becomes available - SQUEEEE - to the viewing public. Otherwise the movie hits Disney Channel on Friday, followed by ABC and the ABC Family Channel on Saturday and Sunday. Then there's that globe-trotting concert tour, followed by the fall start of production on the "J.O.N.A.S." series for Disney Channel. But of course the lads would like you to think of them as a real pop-rock band, and by the way their next album comes out Aug. 12.

Middle brother Joe Jonas, 18, has a pretty funny quip on the Beatlemania-esque reaction to the boys. "Every time I hear that screaming, I think, 'Something must be wrong!' You know, like we're in 'Cloverfield' all of a sudden." That's from a Buddy TV piece on the group, which also includes Kevin, 20, and Nick, 15. The best take, however, covering everything from their father-manager to their chastity pledges, is this N.Y. Times feature. And of course, following in the footsteps of Miley and Vanessa Hudgens of "HSM," there's a controversy.

Of everything I've seen the past couple of days, though, the most telling is a typo halfway through the Times piece. At least in the online version of the story, Kevin Jonas is quoting as saying, "We are not a boy band in the traditional sense. We don't dance or have synchronized moves. We are a pop-rock bank."

Not band, bank. AHAHAHAHAHA. Unintentionally correct. I'm pretty sure the Times reporter and copydesk just screwed up that one. But ... sweet!
