The Wrap (via Slashfilm) is reporting that Lionsgate is in talks with Summit Entertainment about merging the two companies. At stake...not much, unless you count Twilight.
Seeing that now is the time to get in on some of that sweet teenage vampire action, Lionsgate would acquire the rights to that franchise and Summit's other properties, which you can count on two hands. Or one, if you have an extra appendage.
Clearly the price would be more dear now than eight months ago, but Lionsgate has been busy buying stuff that doesn't make any sense, like TVGuide.com and the TV Guide Network, which we reported around Christmas.
