Pitching his labor of love, My Name is Bruce, in the UK, Bruce Campbell was shooting from the hip about all things Evil Dead when IGN caught up with him. The Chin talks about the remake, a fourth movie, and the long-rumored Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash showdown with his usual candor.
"We actually had that five minute conversation with New Line Cinema," remembers Campbell of FvJvA, "and it went kind of like this: 'Hey, how about Ash vs. Jason vs. Freddy? 'We went 'Great idea - Ash can kill them both, right?'"
"And they went, 'Well, actually you can't kill either one of them.' And it was 'click'. That's how long the phone call went for." Campbell says it made no business sense to bring the three characters together because of New Line's attachment to Nightmare on Elm Street - "you know it's going to get special treatment. And why else would Ash be in it unless he could kill both of those jerks? "
